Lyrics and Lyricists will feature MISS: Broadway’s Women Songwriters on December 10, 11 and 12, celebrating the long history of Broadway’s women songwriters and their indelible work, in a show designed, co-written and co-hosted by Kate Baldwin , twice nominated for Tony. and award-winning songwriter-lyricist Georgia Stitt. Baldwin brings his vision, voice, and charisma that have wowed audiences in Broadway productions of Hello, Dolly!, Finian’s Rainbow, and more. Stitt brings her deep expertise as an artist, lawyer and founder of Maestra Music and the two are joined by singers Kennedy Kanagawa (Into the Woods), Bryonha Marie Parham (The Book of Mormon), Nicholas Rodriguez (Company) and Emily Skegs. (Fun welcome). From groundbreaking icons such as Kay Swift, Mary Rodgers, Micki Grant, Lucy Simon and Elizabeth Swados to contemporary artists such as Jeanine Tesori, Lisa Kron, Sara Bareilles, Erin McKeown and Quiara Alegria Hudes, they honor women whose contributions are a part essential to the Broadway songbook.
“As a teenager, Georgia read a book by Liz Swados which played a role in her career as a composer,” comments Kate Baldwin. “We are thrilled to shine a light on these pioneering women who have helped shape us.”

It celebrates writers such as Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, David Crosby, John Phillips and The Mamas & the Papas, Don Henley and Glenn Frey of the Eagles, and others who created the West Coast pop sound that defined a era. In a show created with acclaimed musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and acclaimed director James Darrah, who collaborated with Vosk on Great Performances’ fabulous production of “The Bernstein Centennial Celebration at Tanglewood”, Vosk takes us inside the intimate California community that launched a thousand hits and sparked new directions in songwriting.
