SESAC celebrates songwriters and publishers with 2021 Nashville Music Awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn., November 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — SESAC celebrated its songwriters and music publishers behind the year’s most-played country and American songs for the 2021 Nashville Music Awards, which took place in a digital format. The annual winners were announced on the organization’s website and social media platforms with exclusive photos and videos from some of country music’s top songwriters, editors and performers.

“Songwriting and music publishing are at the very heart of the music industry, and we at SESAC love being able to honor these contributions,” said Scott Jungmichel, President and Chief Operating Officer, SESAC PRO. “We are happy to celebrate our most played songs over the past year.”

Niko Moon was named SESAC Songwriter of the Year for the first time, the single “Good Time” became his first No. 1 hit as an artist. Additionally, he wrote the “Gone” chart, recorded by Dierks Bentley. Lee Brice seventh #1 hit song, “One of them girls“, released by Warner Chappell Music has been named SESAC Song of the year. Warner Chappell Music also won the Editor of the Year distinction, most recently winning the award in 2019. Additionally, Walker Hayes’ 16 weeks of #1 viral success”fancy like“, written by the affiliate Josh Jenkins and published by SMACK Songs and Kobalt, received a new honor, Sync Song of the Year.
