Rogue Valley Gyms Fit Extreme Risk Category Guidelines
MEDFORD, Oregon – The Rogue Valley Family YMCA of Medford adapts to the latest guidelines for counties in the “Extreme Risk” category.
Indoor recreational facilities – including gyms, fitness centers, and theaters – over 500 square feet can accommodate a maximum of six people in the space.
Only if social distancing, cleansing, and face covering guidelines are followed.
Indoor recreation facilities were among the businesses that were shut down completely under the previous Extreme Risk Directive.
CEO Brad Russell says it’s been tough being shut down for two and a half months, but their members have remained engaged.
“I am very grateful to the members who kept their dues up to date, and also a lot of donations that allowed us to do a lot of renovations while we were closed,” said Russell.
Russell says more than 50% of members have kept their dues up to date.
Although Jackson County continues to stay in the “extreme risk” category, Russell says the Rogue Valley Family YMCA is doing its best to support its members.
“Different people have different levels of comfort, so we want to do our best to make people feel comfortable, welcome and safe here,” said Russell.
