Police: 1 dead, 3 injured in Murfreesboro accident
MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (WKRN) – Police in Murfreesboro said a man died after a crash on Sunday.
It happened on Medical Center Parkway. Police said a man from Antioch was dead and three other people were injured, including a 5-year-old.
The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Honda Accord was traveling west on Medical Center Parkway and lost control as she crossed the bridge near Warren Street. Police said the woman was driving too fast for the weather conditions, causing the vehicle to float and deviate into the oncoming lane, striking a 2002 Ford Mustang.
Mustang driver and rear passenger Maximo Chicaj-Lopez, 34, of Antioch, were pulled from the vehicle by members of the Murfreesboro fire department. Chicaj-Lopez was taken to hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Honda Accord was not injured, but a five-year-old girl was taken to hospital and treated for injuries. At the time, the 5-year-old was not wearing a child restraint or a belt-positioning booster seat.
No charges have been filed yet. The Fatal Accident Crash team is still investigating.
