Kid Laroi’s “Stay” is the most popular song in the world right now
The Kid is on top of the world.
For the first time, The Kid Laroi’s “Stay” reached # 1 on the Global 200, Billboard’s global chart that ranks songs based on streaming and sales data from over 200 territories.
The Global 200 is the best metric we have for rating the world’s most popular singles, and the Australian teen’s collaboration with Justin Bieber is officially # 1, everywhere.
After recording his first two weeks at # 2, “Stay” by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber rose through the ranks Billboard Global 200 Summit, with 75.1 million streams (up 6%) and 13,900 sold globally (up 11%) in the follow-up week of July 23-29.
This is The Kid LAROI’s first time topped the list, and Bieber’s second.
According to Billboard, its rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating only official feeds on subscription levels and advertising funded audio and video music services, as well as downloads, albeit direct-to-consumer site sales ( D2C) are not counted.

Raised in Sydney, now based in Los Angeles, The Kid LAROI is the first Australian-born artist to top the Global 200 ranking.
They are in fact the second high group in Australia to reach the top. Blackpink’s Rosé, who was born in Auckland, raised in Melbourne and now based in South Korea, conducted for a week with ‘On the Ground’ in March.
The Kid (real name Charlton Howard) had already won 10th place in the world rankings with “Without You”, with Miley Cyrus.
“Stay” recently reached # 1 on the ARIA Singles Rankings and # 2 in the UK and appears in the Third Edition of Laroi’s Evolution Fucking love mixtape, titled On you.
