TOPS formed in 2011 following the disbandment of synth-pop band Silly Kissers, of which the main founding members were a part. Their last album, I feel alive, was released in 2020 to positive critical and commercial reception, earning a 6.7/10 from Pitchfork. TOPS are known for their upbeat sound that mixes indie-pop energy with the patience and artistry of great soft-rock – and it’s all topped off with their heartfelt, sometimes soulful lyrics.
