NEW YORK – (BUSINESS WIRE) – iHeartMedia and FOX today announced that Brandi Carlile, Demi Lovato and ELLE will perform during a special tribute honoring Elton john with the iHeartRadio Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2021. The award will be presented by Chris Martin and Lil Nas X and will honor Elton John’s global impact on pop culture, his longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base around the world. Bailiff will host and perform during the event, which will also include previously announced performances from The Weeknd with special guest Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak (Silk Sonic), Dan + Shay and Doja cat. In addition, the event will feature special appearances from LL Cool J, Nelly, Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Lil Jon, Robin Thicke, Joel McHale, Oliver Stark, Ryan Guzman, Gabby Barrett, Ava Max, Raphael Saadiq, AJR and more, as well as the previously announced appearances of Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, Twenty-One Pilots and Megan Thee Stallion. The event will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, Thursday May 27 (8: 00-10: 00 PM ET live / PT delayed) on FOX. The eighth annual event will also be broadcast live on iHeartMedia radio stations across the country and on the iHeartRadio app.
For the 2021 IHeartRadio Music Prize, iHeartMedia and FOX will preview the winners of four awards ahead of the Thursday May 27 broadcast exclusively on FOX. Starting at 9:00 a.m. ET on East Coast Shows, a winner will be announced and deliver an acceptance speech at 9:00 a.m. local time in all four major time zones in the following categories: Country Album of the Year, Country Song of the Year, Dance Album of the Year and Social Star Award. The winners will also be revealed on iHeartMedia radio stations and social media after FOX.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards will celebrate the most played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2020, while also offering a preview of upcoming hits for 2021.
